pause
This collection of images is created by photographer Cheryl Diermyer with reflections written by Rev. Winton Boyd. Each image invites each of us to pause and reflect on our connectedness with each other and with earth’s natural beauty. The hurried pace of 21st century daily life in much of the United States leaves us little time for reflection, or to pause and really see others. It is often in the quiet spaces of our lives, when we find deeper understanding of how we make our way in the world. This exhibit invites moments of stillness and offers an opportunity to connect us to humanity and with all creation.
Exhibit hours and locations are:
May 11 - July 1
Orchard Ridge United Church of Christ (ORUCC)
1501 Gilbert Road, Madison, Wisconsin
Tuesdays & Fridays, 9:00 - 3:30 and Sundays 11:00AM - 4:00PM

Day 40
So finally, fast from Lent for another year.
Feast now on the path ahead; uncharted,
unknown, beckoning. But alive.
And this we know (a deep knowing beyond proof),
That through the dark hours of our lives,
new life-light shimmers ahead…
The Resurrection in me
greets the Resurrection in you. Be raised into life.
Day 39
Fast from all of the cultural
and religious rules that seek to
oppress and dominate.
Feast on this: Jesus said to them,
You shall love the Lord your God
with all of your heart, and with all of
your soul, and with all of your mind.
This is the greatest and first
commandment. And a second like it:
You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
On these two commandments hang all
of the law and the prophets. Mt22:37-40
The Easter miracle in me
greets the Easter miracle in you.
Day 38
Fast from wastefulness.
Feast on the simplicity of enough.
The Abundance in me
greets the Abundance in you.
Day 37
Fast from requiring certainty
in order to be comfortable.
Feast on the luscious bubbling doubt
that springs from a rich questioning faith.
The Seeker in me
greets the Seeker in you.
